How to Detect Fraud and What to Do

If something doesn't seem right about your medical bills—for example, the same item is billed twice or you've been billed for services you never received—here's what to do:

  • Compare the billing you got from your provider to the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) you received from WPS/TRICARE For Life (TFL). Be sure that you received all services listed.
  • Contact the provider’s billing office. Some discrepancies may simply be errors in billing. If you know or have evidence of a provider or TFL eligible person submitting fraudulent claims, please report it. Write to the Program Integrity unit at reportit@wpsic.com.
